How to play
This is a liminal skyblock — you start with nothing in an empty carpeted room and build a whole industry out of the backrooms. It plays nothing like normal survival, so here's the loop:
You wake up in a small carpet room lit by a buzzing fluorescent light. That's home base. The invisible walls are on purpose — you're inside the backrooms, not out in a normal world.
Open your Quest Book. It's in your inventory when you spawn (or press the FTB Quests key, default i → book icon). The book is your guide — it tells you exactly what to do next, one step at a time.
Punch the chairs for your first wood, cut the carpet to reveal the concrete underneath, and craft your first tools. Each quest unlocks the next.
Build up, then dig deeper. Go from wooden tools to machines, then descend through the deeper backrooms levels — the poolrooms, the limbo, and beyond.
Stuck in an empty box, or floating in the void? You wandered out of the room or off the edge of the map. Type /kill in chat and you'll wake back up at home base. (That drops anything you're carrying, so it's the fix for when you just joined — once you've got loot, ask an admin to /tp you instead.) There's no normal overworld to escape to — the backrooms are the whole world, by design.
Java Edition only. Liminal Industries is a Forge modpack, so it can only be played on Minecraft: Java Edition with the pack installed. Bedrock players (phone, tablet, console) and the browser/Eaglercraft world can't load Forge mods — this one's Java-and-the-pack, or it won't let you in. The rest of Lemony SMP still works everywhere as usual.
